Discovering Impressionism: Paul Durand-Ruel and the New Painting

The Philadelphia Museum of Art is host to this to highly anticipated international exhibition. The exhibition examines the vital role that Parisian art dealer Paul Durand-Ruel played in the rise of Impressionism. Important works by Monet, Renoir, Manet, Pissarro, Degas and others will be shown with historical photographs and documents to explore this period. A Summer Retreat

Whether you are coming for business or pleasure, a stay at the Victorian Splendor will be a welcome retreat. This circa 1896, 17-room, Victorian home has beautiful oak woodwork and multiple fireplaces, but in the summer, it's the gardens and pool that will charm and relax you.

Choose from two guestrooms on the 2nd floor, one with a queen bed, the other with 2 single beds. The bath with claw foot tub and shower, is located between and shared by these 2 rooms. There are 2 additional bedrooms on the 3rd floor if more rooms are needed. The hostess prepares breakfast in the mornings which can be served, weather permitting, on the deck overlooking the pool and garden.

The Victorian Splendor B&B is located in the Overbrook Farms area of Philadelphia near City Line Avenue and St. Joseph's University. This location is ideal for guests visiting the local Philadelphia and Main Line Colleges and is also convenient for tourists coming to see the historic sites. The regional rail station is a short 5 minute walk from this accommodation and 30th Street Station is only one stop, a 10 minute train ride, away.

Nightly Rate: $105-$130
