Canadensis Manor

Pocono Mountains

The Manor is nestled in the heart of the Pocono Mountains, on four hilly acres across from the Brodhead Creek and surrounded by over 200 privately owned acres of forests.

In summer, enjoy the wraparound porch with rocking chairs and what may be the county's largest porch swing. The living room has a turreted music area with a grand piano surrounded by three curved glass windows. The Hunt room, with a fireplace, TV, and assorted games, is a great place to unwind. The Library area also has a fireplace and is a quiet nook in which to relax. Bedrooms have queen beds and private baths, some with a Jacuzzi tub.

There are three adjoining dining rooms to choose from. You may dine in the fireplace room, on the enclosed sun porch or a raised formal dining room with two walls of windows with original stained glass, all with beautiful forest views. A gourmet breakfast is served. If you make reservations in advance for dinner on the weekends, you can further enjoy the culinary talents of your host. In addition the inn hosts murder mystery weekends monthly.

Distinctive Inn of Bethlehem

Lehigh Valley

Restored to its original 1922 grandeur, the Inn, listed on the National Trust, has floor-to-ceiling palladium windows that provide dramatic views of the historic shopping district just outside the front doors. Seven large murals, painted by George Gray retell the history of Bethlehem. In particular, the story of how Count Zinzendorf and other early settlers met on Christmas Eve in 1741 in a crude cabin on the site now occupied by the inn and named the city of Bethlehem.

Guest rooms and suites in rich hues of navy and gold and packed with amenities offer spectacular views of Bethlehem's Main Street shopping and the noted Bethlehem star on South Mountain. All guest rooms feature voice mail, irons and ironing boards, coffee makers, hairdryers, and cable television.

The historic district that surrounds the hotel dates to the settlement of Bethlehem by the Moravians in 1741.

Log Cabin B&B

Reading Area

Nestled in the foothills of the Pennsylvania Dutch countryside in Berks County, the Log Cabin was originally home to the Gruber family. This totally restored log cabin was built in the 1700's to house their family.

Today, it offers an opportunity to step back in time to a simpler way of life. It has been completely renovated to include a kitchen, bath and air-conditioning. The rustic feel of the cabin is enhanced by the period furniture that was made by the owner. A quilt covered queen-size bed offers an excellent place to unwind.

The porch rockers invite you to pull up a chair and relax as you gaze at the surrounding fields. Situated among the Mennonite farms of Heidelberg Township, the cabin offers a scenic view of farm life in Berks County. There are a number of golf courses within a few minutes drive. The Blue Marsh Recreation area also offers skiing, hiking, biking and equestrian trails, fishing and swimming.

Poconos B&B

Western Pocono Area

Close to all the best of the Poconos, this lovely B&B is located in the western Pocono area less then two hours from most of the major metropolitan areas. Situated adjacent to the beautiful Beltzville State Park and Lake, it is close to all the many year round Poconos activities available ... skiing, boating, golf, biking and hiking.

The timber lodge, built in 1996, centers around a great room with a 26-foot, floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace. The fireplace is framed on either side by mounting staircases with log-shaped steps. The decor is country. Each of the six guest rooms, designed with privacy in mind, features its own full bath, queen-size bed, fireplace, TV and private balcony. Request a lake view! This is the perfect place to unwind and regain an appreciation for the lovely little things in life.

The family-style breakfasts, served on the weekends cause guests to linger at the table. The entree might be blueberry French toast, soufflés, or the specialty - beautifully molded cinnamon buns. Many good restaurants are nearby for dinner.
